I read in my Psychology book about internet relationships and was very impressed on why they can't work. Apparently to have a successful relationship a person has to be within a certain distance of the other person. Internet relationships are usually long distance so therefore aren't a 'real' relationship. It's called a 'romantic relationship', in which in reality there isn't any physical contact because of the distance factor. The distance thing also doesn't allow the two in the 'relationship' to actually test it out to see if it'll work because it's all based on dreams, 'future anticipations', and wanted outcomes - which in all reality is impossible. Usually romantic relationships only last for 6-12 months. However ones that do involve physical contact, similarities, and interests are the ones that can last a lifetime.
PS. I didn't copy anything out of the book and type it out here. It's all a personal interpretation of what was read.
